Lady Saw to face Lawsuit.
Promoter Plan to pursue legal action Against LADY SAW.
Although the highly anticipated Cane Juice Cooler Fete has recovered quickly from the withdrawal of regional act Lady Saw, organisers have decided to seek compensation for the inconvenience caused.
Lead Organiser, Raphael Rodney told Rebelradiolink that Cooler Fete will be pursuing legal action against the Jamaican dancehall artiste for not fulfilling her contractual obligations this Saturday.
He said, “While we do respect and honour the fact that she has moved on into a different aspect of her life, we have to remember that there is business involved and we were not contacted officially. We found out like everybody else –via social media. There are some legal damages that we would have to pursue because I mean, we have printed, we have advertised.”
Rodney further reiterated that despite the withdrawal, Cooler Fete will be a great experience as approximately 18 artistes are ready to entertain.
“On our end, one of the good things that we always try to put out and we live by when promoting this event is that it is not about any one artiste. It is an experience, it is our Carnival. We add outside elements to this event to enhance the overall look, feel, ambiance, environment and the entertainment package that we will provide at the Cooler Fete,” he noted.
On Monday, Lady Saw announced she would be cancelling all her performances following her decision to leave dancehall, in honour of her new found faith.
Less than 24 hours after her withdrawal, Cooler Fete announced her replacement to be Jamaican dancehall artiste, Konshens.
